Thoor Ballylee, Yeats’s tower, opens for the 2025 season on the morning of Saturday 19 April!

All hands were on deck to prepare the tower and exhibitions for our reopening this weekend – including volunteers and board members getting their hands dirty.

The tower will be open every day from 11 am to 5 pm until the end of April.

From 1 May the tower is open for the summer daily 10 am to 5pm.

Once again visitors will be able to enter the poet’s domain, loiter in the cottage, stride the downstairs hearth, gaze at the river, climb the winding stair, imagine the fireside partnership with his wife George Yeats, sit in their seats or peer out of the arrow slit windows, visit the Strangers’ room, survey the Galway countryside from the roof, and descend for a welcome cup of tea and cake. Also on view our excellent exhibitons and gift shop, see our video guide or visit the Studio at Thoor Ballylee in what was once a car garage, and as ever tour the magnificent surrounding area, including lovely river walk and mill.

We hope you can join us as we celebrate the beginning of our tenth year at Yeats’s Thoor Ballylee, or help us in whatever way you can.
