Join artist-in-residence Aya Bundurakis for this special hands-on children’s workshop!
In this workshop, we’ll swirl into a world where eels and salmon meet: two magical creatures who journey between fresh and salt water, crossing time, myth, and memory. They cross each other in the estuary: the salmon swims home, upstream, guided by scent and memory, while the eel slips outward toward the unknown, following secrets we don’t fully understand.
Inspired by the legend of the Salmon of Knowledge (Bradán Feasa) and the mysterious life of the Eel, we’ll use clay, drawing, and words to explore what it means to transform, to migrate, and to know —like a fish. What happens when an eel and a salmon meet in the river?
What stories do they remember? What might they become?
This workshop is part of this year’s artist-in-residence programme, supported by Galway County Council.
